Our History

In the mountains of New Mexico’s Enchanted Circle, Moreno Valley Preparatory was founded to offer handcrafted learning in a digital age.

Guided by the Paideia tradition, we combine rigorous academics, democratic values, and lifelong learning. Our faculty, all with advanced degrees and STEM certification, inspire curiosity in a technology-rich environment.

Students move through open-air corridors, study in courtyard classrooms, and enjoy breathtaking views—sometimes with elk nearby. With a four-day week, MVP balances strong academics with the rhythm of mountain life.

MVP remains a unique community where nature, innovation, and tradition prepare students for the future.

Letter from the Director

Moreno Valley Preparatory can be found in the Enchanted Circle of New Mexico, nestled in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. It sounds special because it is!

We provide handcrafted education in a digital age.

As a Paideia learning community, our culture is marked by rigorous coursework, democratic culture, and lifelong learning. Each student has an equal opportunity to develop in a balanced manner. Students learn in a technology rich environment designed to enhance classroom interaction.

Committed to 21st Century skill development, every faculty member has obtained the National Certificate of STEM Teaching. Teachers share their love of learning with student and have all earned advanced degrees.

The mountain landscape is the true gem of our school. to move from class to class, we use an outside corridor. In the courtyard we eat lunch and hold classes; the view is truly breathtaking (and occasionally the elk visit the meadow around the school)! Students enjoy mountain life on weekends which last a bit longer at MVP. Most weeks we attend school Tuesday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm.

Ready to experience this special learning community for yourself (it can’t be real right)? Contact us or apply for admission and we’d be happy to set up a tour.
